DATA PREP GUIDE

Export Your Data

Get your session logs from any major racing ECU into Race Data One quickly.

Race Data One works best with clean, well-structured telemetry. Below you’ll find export instructions for the most common ECUs used in IndyCar, GT3, WEC, NHRA, and Rallycross.

Export as CSV or the manufacturer’s native log format. The app will guide you through the import process.

ECU EXPORT INSTRUCTIONS
RETRIEVE LOGS
  • Connect via Ethernet or CAN using Dash Manager or M1 Tune.
  • Use “Get Logged Data” / “Retrieve Logged Data” / “Unload”.
  • Save the .ld file and add venue/event/session details.
EXPORT TO CSV / USABLE FORMAT
  • Open the .ld file in i2 (File → Open Log File).
  • Go to File → Export Data (or right-click a graph → Export Data).
  • Recommended settings: Entire Outing, CSV File, Auto sample rate.
  • Enable “Include Time Stamp”.
NOTES
  • Use “Visible Channels” for smaller, focused exports.
  • Zoom to a specific region first for shorter files.
  • Supports MoTeC log, MATLAB, and more with Feature Licence.
QUICK REFERENCE TIPS
  • Always name files clearly (track_date_session_run) and keep consistent folder structure.
  • Prefer native formats for full fidelity; use CSV for universal interchange.
  • Trim/zoom to the relevant portion before exporting large files.
  • Clear device memory only after confirming a successful download.
  • Keep software updated — menu names can shift slightly between versions.
